What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is an ancient, newly re-discovered spiritual tool that is beneficial for people in the personal, interpersonal and social spheres of human existence. It is extraordinarily useful because it works. Each of us has life experience that has given us a degree of self-knowledge; however there is a deepening clarity we discover through our Enneagram type. The awareness that comes is like a light shining in one's closet. In interpersonal relationships the Enneagram enables us to emerge with a new appreciation and acceptance of others. People begin to see how different others really are. There are nine different personality types, with their motivations and affective flavor that confront us in the people we encounter. Through the Enneagram we discover why some persons are easier for us to understand and accept while others are more challenging. The Enneagram is primarily a spiritual tool and as such is one of the clearest and most accurate methods available for understanding ourselves and those who are important to us. The insight that it gives can change our lives. Life is simply never the same. For more information see the F.A.Q.'s below.

Day One - Saturday, August 11, 2012

Know Your Number

"Know Your Number" is an integral first step in work with the Enneagram, an ancient spiritual tool. The workshop is an excellent opportunity for both those who do not know or are unsure of their Enneagram number, and those who want to learn more about their personality type. Suzanne's practical, insightful, and compassionate approach to teaching the Enneagram will enable you to go ever deeper in your understanding of yourself, and yourself in relationship with others and with God. Through understanding our number, we understand how our greatest gifts can also be our greatest sins. In this program, Suzanne Stabile introduces the Nine Types: Perfectionist, Giver, Performer, Romantic, Observer, Devil's Advocate, Epicure, Boss, and Mediator. Each personality type is reviewed in detail, including an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the Types, and the likely interpersonal challenges that may be involved in an unhealthy expression of the Type. The Enneagram offers an inherently holistic approach to personality and interpersonal relating.

Day Two - Sunday, August 12, 2012

Thinking - Feeling -Doing

Every day we use THINKING, FEELING, AND DOING to make our way through the world. For each Enneagram number, one is dominant, one is suppressed and one supports the dominant. If they are balanced, our journey is enhanced in many ways. In this course, we will work with these three intelligences so that we might have clearer perception, deeper wisdom and a strengthened interior focus.

F.A.Q.'s
Why is knowing my Enneagram Number so Important?

Knowing how you are different from other people, how they are different from you, and why you both act the way you do, is invaluable in human growth and relationships.

Is the Enneagram a psychological test?

No. By listening to the characteristics of each Enneagram type, you decide which type you are.

If I can only attend one workshop day, which should I choose?

If you are already familiar with the Enneagram and know your number, you may wish to choose the second day, "Thinking, Feeling and Doing". If you are not familiar with the Enneagram or are not sure of your number, you may wish to choose the first day, "Know Your Number". CD's and DVD's of other Enneagram teachings will be available for purchase both days.

Is one number type better than any other?

No. Each number type has immature and mature characteristics, positive and negative traits.

Does everyone fit one of the nine types?

Yes. Although we all have characteristics of each of the nine types, there is one type in which we specialize.

Can my Enneagram number change?

No. Your way of seeing the world does not change. However, you can mature and grow within your number type.

Is it possible to have more than one number?

No. You may have characteristics of other numbers, but there is only one number that is truly yours.
